Cerulean Rooster - Commission Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all commissioned artwork and illustration projects with Cerulean Rooster. By submitting a commission inquiry and proceeding with a project, you agree to the following:
1. Commission Process
-
All commissions begin with a consultation to discuss scope, timeline, pricing, and usage. Work begins once details are approved and the required payment is received.
-
Cerulean Rooster reserves the right to decline a commission if it is outside our scope or values.
2. Payment
-
A non-refundable deposit of 50 percent is required before work begins.
-
The remaining balance is due upon final approval and before delivery of final files or artwork.
-
Payments are due within the timeframe specified on the invoice.
-
Late payments may delay delivery.
3. Revisions
-
Each commission includes up to two reasonable revision rounds at the sketch or draft stage.
-
Revisions requested after final approval or beyond the included rounds may incur additional fees.
-
Major changes to the original concept may be considered a new project and re-quoted.
-
Clear communication early helps keep things smooth and efficient.
4. Timeline
-
Estimated timelines will be discussed and agreed upon before work begins. Timelines may vary depending on scope, revisions, and responsiveness.
-
Cerulean Rooster is not responsible for delays caused by late feedback, changes in scope, or circumstances beyond our control.
5. Usage Rights and Copyright
-
Cerulean Rooster retains full copyright to all commissioned artwork unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
-
Upon full payment, clients receive a license to use the artwork for the agreed-upon purpose such as personal or promotional use.
-
Artwork may not be resold, sublicensed, or modified without written permission.
-
If expanded or exclusive rights are needed, they can be discussed and quoted separately.
6. Artist Promotion
-
Cerulean Rooster reserves the right to display commissioned work in portfolios, on the website, and on social media unless otherwise agreed in writing.
-
Client confidentiality will always be respected when requested.
7. Cancellations and Refunds

Deposits are non-refundable once work has begun.
-
If a project is canceled after work starts, the client is responsible for payment proportional to work completed.
-
No refunds are issued for completed work.
8. Final Delivery
-
Final artwork will be delivered in the format or formats agreed upon during the commission process.
-
Physical artwork, if applicable, will be packaged with care. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise stated.
